Luxury power boat owners in mourning after Marina Inferno, At least nine cruisers were destroyed or damaged in Tuesdays blaze, described as one of the worst pleasure boat fires in living memory, with a damage bill set to reach $5 million, the suspected cause of the blaze is possibly chemical or electrical or a combination of both, No doubt the Insurance assesors will have their hands full, which brings us to the subject of Marina safety. Fire is our number one risk, and we ask that all boatowners assess the associated risks that are involved,servicing and maintenance by qualified contractors, periodical electrical inspections, we can all do our bit to make the marina a safer place ,as I’m sure we do not want the same fate as the Pittwater marina in New South Wales.
